The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. Ps 92: 12-15

Happy 14th...

Today is Logan's 14th birthday :) Wow.. how time flies. I am so blessed to have 2 beautiful, smart, healthy children. I am so thankful that God has saved them and I am excited to see what plans the Lord has for their future.

In honor of Logan, I will recount some pregnancy memories...

  • From January til May while pregnant with you, I never once breathed through my nose. Every membrane in my body was swollen for 5 months. I can still remember the air I inhaled the morning after you were born. Amazing..

  • I only gained 18 lbs. while pregnant with you. Thank you :)

  • I carried you like a perfect little basketball, (which sat firmly on my bladder).

  • I craved little debbie oatmeal pies, deviled eggs, and potato salad.

  • Your dad and I watched 'Roadhouse' on TV at home while I was in labor. For a brief moment, I thought about naming you Dalton after Patrick Swayze.

  • Prior to watching 'Roadhouse', I watched a very sad 'ER'. A lady died while in labor. Jeff fussed at me.

  • We left for the hospital about 11:30 pm.

  • Your dad was a little nervous on the way over thinking I'd waited too late to leave for the hospital. I think he drove about 90 mph.

  • It must have been a slow night at the hospital because Dr. Metcalf and the nurses sat in our room prior to delivery talking about the day's happenings.

  • You were born at the early, ungodly hour of 3:05 am on Tuesday, May 7.

  • You weighed 8lbs, 13 oz, and were 21 inches long.

  • I didn't name you right away. Surprise :). Mom is so slow on making decisions....

  • La Leche League took our picture the next day to promote their program in the newspaper. Still no name. You are baby boy Adkisson in the paper. Sorry...

  • Big Sister made Mamaw get up at 6:30 am the next morning to come to the hospital. She couldn't wait to see you. Even if she did pray for a little sister :)

  • We left the hospital on a beautiful, unseasonably warm Wednesday afternoon.
  • I wrote this post on your birthday, but planned to insert some great baby pic of you. I can't remember to do that, so here's the post...
